QDB Editions + Malakio | Dead Leaf Tealight Holder
Description
Description
The tea light holder is a timeless decorative object that brings a warm and romantic atmosphere to any room in the house.
It can be used to brighten up summer evenings on a terrace or to create a soft, subdued atmosphere in a bedroom or living room.
Today, two French craft brands have joined forces to create a unique and sustainable tea light holder: the brand and Malàkio.
The team collaborated with the company Malàkio to create a tea light holder made from recycled materials. Malàkio collects the raw materials from oyster farmers and restaurateurs in Brittany and Charente.
After natural drying, they transform them in Nantes where they make all of their objects. The low-tech process without firing and the proximity of the raw materials allows them to make, from this composite, unique or mass-produced objects with a very low GHG footprint.
The glass bell jar is made from a magnum, showcasing the beauty of raw, recycled glass.
To make the base of the candle holder, Malàkio incorporates crushed glass from product scraps and oyster shells.
