About

The genesis

In 2016, the company's story began with that of a glass bottle. Witnessing its first life, Gauthier Decarne decided to give it a second, based on the principle of upcycling. Quickly joined by Victoire, the couple took a seemingly simple idea far: cutting a bottle to create a glass.

Over the years, the duo has drawn inspiration from glass and expanded their collections. From the bottle are born objects of use - such as candlesticks, vases or table lamps - which combine aesthetics, functionality and durability.

Manufacturer - Publisher

Based in Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, the QDB Editions workshop navigates between tradition and innovation. There, glass artisans perpetuate the art of glassmaking and continually push the boundaries of the material's potential. Recognized for its technical expertise, the company proudly boasts its in-house production since 2016. This mastery of its production process grants it considerable agility; through it, QDB Editions explores new creative territories every day – both for series production and in response to bespoke projects.

Its identity also revolves around publishing creations conceived in collaboration with designers, architects, and craftspeople. From initial sketches to commercialization, QDB Editions maintains an open dialogue with each of them and creates freely based on its encounters.

The prism of glass

More than a style, it's the material itself that guides the teams when they imagine a new creation. From design to manufacturing, glass is always valued and treated with respect. Even when combined with other materials, such as stainless steel, it remains the preferred choice. When used, its cuts are naturally optimized to minimize material waste.

Random matter

From one slice of glass to the next, the material presents itself differently each time. Its nuances and curves can thus exhibit subtle variations. Far removed from industrial production, we proudly cultivate this inherent roughness of raw and natural materials.
